1: Education: The Dreaded Sats - A Child's And Parent's Nightmare!
Well, here we are again facing the dreaded standardized achievement tests (SATS). Everyone involved is a bundle of nerves. The head teacher wants to look good on the national league tables. The other teachers want to make a good impression. The poor children; well everyone keeps telling them how important the tests are, so they are panicked about not doing well enough.

It is no secret that the Spanish language is growing in importance, and many parents want to make sure that their children will benefit in the future by being able to speak it fluently.

3: Teaching Children To Speak Spanish Is Becoming A Necessity
For some reason, there are many parents that are quite skeptical of teaching their children Spanish as a second language, particularly while they are still young. They think that teaching children to speak Spanish before they begin properly speaking English can negatively affect their learning skills. These parents contend that children will become confused and have trouble learning either language. But the complete opposite is true, and children that are raised to be bilingual will actually have many advantages over children that are not.

According to NCES.edu.gov, study habit amount grade levels are increasing. About 12% of 4th graders spend at least one hour a day studying, while that number increased to 37% for 12th graders. However that still leaves 63% of 12th graders not studying consistently. In Oregon alone, the drop out rate is 4.1%, which are roughly 7,400 students who dropped out during the 2006/2007 school year according to the Oregon Department of Education. Oregon rates are down from previous years however the National Education Association (NEA.Org) reports the national drop out rate is still high at 68% in 2006.
